Everything Apple announced at its fall iPhone event, from the foldable iPhone Duo to an always-listening Apple Watch

Apple used its fall "Surprise and Shine" event to introduce the iPhone Duo, the company’s first foldable handset, and to refresh several other product lines. The event, which was the first under newly appointed CEO John Ternus, also brought updated iPhone 18 Pro models, new AirPods, and software upgrades for Apple Watch and the Health app.

The iPhone Duo folds to offer a 7.6-inch Retina inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen, and Apple said it uses an underdisplay camera to create an uninterrupted viewing area. Battery life was described in terms of video playback — up to 31 hours on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer display — and the Duo includes a pair of 48-megapixel cameras (main fusion and ultrawide) with 2x optical zoom. The hinge is built from Grade 5 aluminum and contains more than 100 engineered components. Pricing starts at $1,999 for the 256GB model; preorders begin October 16 and the device ships October 23 in two colors.

Apple also refreshed its Pro iPhone line with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, keeping the prior design but focusing on camera upgrades. The Pro models use a 48-megapixel sensor with a variable aperture driven by six thin blades, and the camera software adds Pro controls such as white balance, shutter speed, aperture and a histogram, plus new Photographic Styles that let users tweak texture and grain. Video capabilities include 4K recording in Dolby HDR Vision with the ability to apply cinematic effects after capture. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and the Pro Max at $1,299; preorders open Saturday and both will be available September 18.

Wearables and accessories received incremental hardware changes and several new software features. Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 gain audio-focused features rather than major hardware overhauls: a Sound Recognition option can detect sirens, alarms, doorbells and a baby crying, and new "Audio Intelligence" tools include Live Rewind (presenting the previous 15 seconds of a conversation as text) and Siri Recap to surface key moments from recent conversations. The Series 12 starts at $399 and the Ultra 4 at $499; preorders opened the day of the event with in-store availability on September 18. AirPods 5 improve audio quality and active noise cancellation (Apple says background noise reduction is 50% better than the previous generation), add stem-based volume controls, and extend listening time to about five hours with ANC on (22 hours including the charging case). AirPods 5 start at $129, $149 with a Wireless Charging Case, and are due in stores September 18.

On the software front, Apple previewed a redesigned Health app that leverages Apple Intelligence to surface timely insights and personalized guidance. The update includes a new Insights tab, a Readiness score, a Health Age calculation and a Longevity tab that aggregates metrics from iPhone and Apple Watch across sleep, movement and heart health. Apple says the revamped Health app will roll out later this year, beginning in U.S. English.
