Microsoft announces Windows and Surface event for October 7th

Microsoft has announced a Windows and Surface-focused event taking place in San Francisco on October 7. The company says the session will center on how local AI will influence the next phase of personal computing, positioning the event as a strategic update on both software and devices. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Windows and Surface head Pavan Davuluri are confirmed to attend. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will also appear, a participation that has prompted observers to highlight the possibility that Nvidia-powered RTX Spark PCs will play a leading role in the event’s agenda. Observers and the reporting outlet suggest that if RTX Spark systems are a focus, Microsoft may provide more details about Surface hardware such as the Surface Laptop Ultra, including potential pricing and availability. The company is also expected to discuss ongoing efforts to improve Windows quality and preview what’s next for the operating system; a surprise Windows 12 announcement is not anticipated. Microsoft last hosted a major Windows event in May 2024, when it introduced Arm-based Copilot Plus PCs and renewed its partnership with Qualcomm.
