Several release dates and upgrades announced around the Direct set up a busy autumn for Nintendo. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is due September 17, and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is scheduled for October 22. Capcom’s Resident Evil remakes — Resident Evil 2: Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4: Gold Edition — will land on Switch 2 on October 16.
Nintendo also revealed upgraded and new entries across its lineup. Pikmin 4 will receive a Switch 2 Edition on November 12, adding voice commands to interact with Oatchi and a Dandori Academy mode that will roll out 72 additional challenges over time. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, with its Ascendance expansion planned to come to the console in 2027.
Other notable items include a new Professor Layton entry for Switch 2 that leans into a steampunk aesthetic and, according to Nintendo, contains the largest collection of puzzles in the series; it is slated for December 10. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity — Definitive Edition will arrive on Switch 2 on February 25, 2027 with improved frame rates, more on-screen enemies, and a new harder difficulty. Additional updates announced: a Mario Kart World update adding ten classic Super Mario Kart courses and two new Knockout Tour routes, new Pokémon (including Skitty, Braixen, Doduo and Snubbull) joining Pokopia DLC part 2, the GameCube classic Star Fox Adventures coming to Switch 2 for NSO subscribers, and a free update for the new Star Fox remake later in the month.
Nintendo has major franchise entries on the 2027 calendar, including new Pokémon and Xenoblade titles, and this Direct may be used to preview more of Nintendo’s post-holiday slate or winter launches. Fans can watch the show and the subsequent Treehouse stream on YouTube starting at 10AM ET.
