Petlibro’s new AI-powered feeder is a game changer for multi-cat homes

Petlibro has upgraded its automatic feeder range with the Granary 2 series, focusing on more accurate intake measurement and per-pet tracking. The new models pair a built-in scale with app-based logging to record not only when food is dispensed but how much remains in the bowl, allowing the system to estimate how much each cat actually ate. That information is presented in daily, weekly, monthly and yearly views in the companion app. The series comprises four variants: the base Granary 2, the Granary 2 Vision (the reviewed unit), the Vision Duo for multi-pet households with dual chutes and bowls, and the Granary 2 X, which Petlibro says provides individualized portioning via AI. Prices range from $129.99 for the entry model up to $249.99 for the top-tier X model. The Vision model adds a 1080p AI camera with night vision and two-way audio, and Petlibro says the camera can identify up to ten pets and link meals to individual profiles. Petlibro built two feeding paradigms into the units: Smart Refill Mode, which maintains the bowl with smaller portions throughout the day up to a set daily limit, and Scheduled Mode for fixed meal times and portion sizes. The Vision and Vision Duo models will only open for the pet the camera recognizes, a feature intended to help households with animals on different diets. The feeder also provides live alerts for issues like low battery, low food, or jams and includes a rechargeable backup battery for power outages. Some advanced monitoring features require paid services: certain health-tracking capabilities are part of Petlibro Care (starting at $59.99 per year), and cloud recording/playback for camera models requires a Video Cloud plan ($119.99 per year). The reviewer judged the Granary 2 among the better feeders they’ve tested but noted lower-cost alternatives such as Pawsync’s $79.99 feeder, which also uses a built-in scale for portion accuracy.
