Raiffeisen to offer crypto trading across 11 European markets via Bitpanda
Raiffeisen Bank International has entered a group-wide partnership with crypto firm Bitpanda to let its network banks offer digital-asset services using Bitpanda Enterprise infrastructure. The collaboration is already live in Austria and could extend crypto access to about 18 million customers across 11 European markets, with initial wider rollouts targeted for 2027 in select countries.

Why It Matters
The deal links a major Central and Eastern European banking group with a MiCA-authorized crypto provider, potentially broadening retail access to regulated crypto services through established banks while individual offerings will depend on local market and regulatory conditions.
Key Facts
- Partnership participants: Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) and Bitpanda Enterprise
- Potential customer reach: About 18 million customers
- Current live market: Austria
- Planned rollout (first half of 2027): Albania, Czech Republic, Slovakia
- Regulatory status of Bitpanda: Authorized under EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA)
Raiffeisen Bank International has agreed a group-wide deal with Bitpanda to let its network banks use Bitpanda Enterprise’s infrastructure to offer cryptocurrency services. The announcement says individual Raiffeisen banks will decide which crypto products to offer and when to launch them, taking into account local market demand and regulatory constraints. The arrangement builds on an earlier integration between Bitpanda and Austria’s Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien that went live in 2024; the combined offering is already operational in Austria. RBI said the partnership could give its network banks the technical backbone to reach roughly 18 million customers across its footprint in Central and Eastern Europe. RBI CEO Michael Höllerer commented that the bank is responding to rising customer interest in crypto assets by working with Bitpanda. A spokesperson for RBI told Cointelegraph that the broader rollout is planned to start in Albania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the first half of 2027. Bitpanda has said it regularly speaks with banks about crypto brokerage services but declined to discuss any confidential talks. Bitpanda Enterprise is authorized under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), a regulatory framework that has been a focal point for banks and providers seeking to offer compliant crypto services in Europe. The companies emphasized that final product availability and timing will vary by jurisdiction depending on local rules and each bank’s choices.
