The Trump phone just got a $250 price hike

Trump Mobile raised its T1 Phone’s price from $499 to $749 by altering its website overnight, without a formal announcement. The device itself hasn’t been changed; its spec sheet still lists 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Earlier this year company executives described the $499 figure as an “introductory” price, and the site briefly called it a “promotional price” before that wording was removed.

The Verge’s review of the T1, published in July, found the phone unremarkable even at the lower launch price and said the device could not be recommended at $749. At the new price point buyers could instead purchase recent mainstream models such as the iPhone 17E or Galaxy S26 FE and still have money left over, or spend slightly more to buy an older flagship like the iPhone 16 or Pixel 10.

Software support for the T1 has been limited: the handset has received a single update that moved its security patch level from February 2026 to May 2026, and it remains on Android 15. Shipping and delivery also appear uneven; although the phone officially began shipping in May, reports cited by The Verge and the BBC indicate some purchasers say they never received their orders.

Taken together, the removed promotional pricing language, the quiet website change, the sparse update track record, and ongoing delivery questions frame the price rise as a significant shift in the device’s market positioning and value proposition.
