World launches self-custodial ‘super app’ World Money
Tools for Humanity has launched World Money, a self-custodial financial "super app" that combines stablecoin payments, digital-asset rewards and trading. The rollout began in more than 150 countries and splits identity and finance functions across two apps: World ID App for verification and World Money for wallet and payment services.

Why It Matters
The release consolidates multiple crypto-native financial features—payments, rewards, trading and third-party mini apps—into a single self-custodial application, signaling a push toward integrated crypto-first consumer finance. By separating identity from financial services, the company is positioning World Money to serve as a dedicated payments and wallet layer for the World network.

Tools for Humanity on Thursday began rolling out World Money, a self-custodial "super app" that bundles stablecoin payments, digital-asset rewards and trading into a single wallet-focused product. The company said the launch covers more than 150 countries, with available features varying by jurisdiction. Users can send supported digital assets to a recipient's World username, deposit qualifying assets to earn rewards, and buy or sell assets via integrated exchanges.
World Money also hosts third-party "Mini Apps," including Kalshi, Credit and Morpho, and incorporates a Vault capability introduced in prior updates to let users earn on deposited assets. A Stripe partnership enables account funding and stablecoin purchases through Apple Pay, initially for U.S. users. The new app continues the World platform's incremental expansion of financial services since the project's initial World App release in May 2023.
The company previously rolled out World App 3.0 in October 2024, adding third-party Mini Apps and the Vault feature, and piloted virtual bank accounts in the U.S. in November 2025 before expanding them to additional countries. With Wednesday's release, World split its identity and financial functions into two dedicated applications: World ID App for identity verification and credentials, and World Money for wallet, payment and other financial features. Existing users of World App and World ID App can sign into World Money with their current accounts.
Tools for Humanity, the developer behind the World network and the organization co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania, is operating World Money. The company frames the product as a self-custodial alternative that centralizes multiple crypto-native financial capabilities while maintaining separate identity management through the World ID App.
