Xreal’s well-rounded 1S glasses are back down to their lowest price

Xreal’s 1S video glasses are back at their lowest recorded price, available for $399 at Amazon and directly from Xreal, a $50 reduction from the typical $449 listing that still appears at some retailers. The smaller discount brings the 1S closer in price to Xreal’s $299 A01 Plus, though the company’s higher-end model retains a handful of extras that can matter to certain buyers.

Among affordable video glasses, the 1S stands out for offering three degrees of freedom (3DoF) tracking, which lets the virtual screen stay anchored in a fixed location in the room rather than shifting with small head movements. Reviewers note that Xreal’s 3DoF implementation feels more stable than many competitors. The 1S also delivers stronger onboard audio compared with the A01 Plus and most non-Xreal alternatives, and it includes electrochromic lenses whose opacity you can adjust to control how much ambient light gets through.

There are trade-offs to consider: some users may not get perfect clarity out of the box. A reviewer who is nearsighted reported needing prescription inserts to see the display sharply, and the 1S does not include hardware myopia dials. By contrast, Viture’s $299 Pro 2 includes adjustable myopia controls that produced excellent clarity for that reviewer without lenses, though the Pro 2 lacks several of the 1S’s premium features.
