Ether is about to lose a steady buyer as Tom Lee says Bitmine will stop token purchases

Bitmine chairman Tom Lee said the firm will stop buying ether once its holdings reach 5% of ETH’s circulating supply, putting a cap on an accumulation program that began in June 2025. As of the company’s latest update, Bitmine holds about 6,016,414 ETH (roughly 4.9% of supply) and needs about 100,000 more tokens to hit its 5% target.
