OpenAI has set up an independent advisory group at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton to give mathematicians more input into its math-focused AI research. The move follows OpenAI’s publication of a claimed solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize problem and the company’s statement that an internal model solved more than 100 additional open problems in mathematics.
