New research argues that AGRA's two-decade push for commercial seeds, fertilisers and a maize-centred Green Revolution has expanded monoculture acreage while undermining production of traditional, climate-resilient African crops. The study finds modest maize yield gains in many participant countries accompanied by large increases in maize area and declines in staples such as millet, cassava and groundnuts.
