Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade, designed to reduce transaction finality to about 150 milliseconds from the current roughly 12.8 seconds, is now running on both Solana’s devnet and testnet. The change alters validator voting so votes are exchanged directly rather than recorded as transactions, and no mainnet launch date has been set.
