Blizzard announced at BlizzCon that the StarCraft franchise will return in 2030 as a new open-world shooter titled simply StarCraft. The reveal, delivered by Blizzard VP Dan Hay, included a cinematic trailer centered on the human United Earth Directorate preparing to face the Zerg, with the Protoss only briefly referenced.
