U.S. commercial crude stocks fell by 400,000 barrels in the week ending Sept. 4, the Energy Information Administration reported Thursday, leaving inventories at 424.1 million barrels — roughly in line with the five-year seasonal average. The data followed similar industry group figures and came as international benchmark Brent jumped to about $106 a barrel and U.S. WTI rose above $100.
