Amazon announced it will raise the minimum starting wage for U.S. core operations staff to $20 per hour and said its overall average hourly pay for those roles will be nearly $24. The company described the change as a $1-per-hour increase for eligible employees and said the boost, together with benefits, lifts average total compensation above $32 per hour.
