Syrian security forces said they arrested five former air force officers, including a major-general, accused of planning and carrying out air strikes on populated areas under the deposed Bashar al-Assad. The arrests were made in coordinated operations with the Counter Terrorism Directorate, the Internal Security Forces in Tartous province said.
