The American Petroleum Institute estimated U.S. crude inventories rose by 7.14 million barrels in the week ending Sept. 11, after a 300,000-barrel decline the prior week. While commercial stocks excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve have fallen by just over 41 million barrels over the past 22 weeks, draws from the SPR have helped limit the net decline in total U.S. crude inventories.
