The Trump administration has notified Congress of a proposed sale of 48 F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia valued at about $24.3 billion, a deal that still requires congressional approval. The State Department said the sale would advance U.S. foreign policy and security objectives while maintaining that it would not upset Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region.
