New York City has enacted a click-to-cancel rule requiring businesses to let customers end recurring subscriptions as easily as they sign up, and the city opened a complaints portal to enforce it. The rule, effective Thursday, is the first municipal version after a federal attempt was struck down in court and is expected to save New Yorkers between $21.5 million and $162.5 million annually.
