UNICEF reported that climate-related hazards disrupted schooling for roughly one in 10 students worldwide in 2025, affecting more than 171 million learners across pre-primary to upper secondary levels. The agency found that girls and children in low- and lower-middle-income countries were hit hardest and warned of long-term consequences without greater investment in resilient education systems.
