United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has disputed a claim by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that the Panama-flagged oil tanker El Gaia struck naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC had described the vessel as a supertanker, but CENTCOM challenged that account.
