A fire at a single-storey nursing home in Pitrufquen, in Chile's Araucania region, killed 16 elderly residents and left others hospitalized after breaking out late on Friday and being extinguished early Saturday. Twenty-six people were inside the private facility when the blaze began; ten survived and were taken to a local hospital.
