Zcash activated its NU7 upgrade on the public testnet, reducing the targeted block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds in a live trial ahead of a planned mainnet launch. The upgrade also reallocates 60% of transaction fees to a reserve for future mining rewards, lowers per-block rewards to preserve issuance timing, and disables the older Sprout privacy transactions.
