The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth-led satirical movement, has given India’s chief election officer Gyanesh Kumar a 48-hour deadline to resign and warned of nationwide protests starting on October 2 if he does not step down. The demand follows a newspaper report that two election commissioners repeatedly raised concerns about Kumar’s handling of voter list updates, allegations the Election Commission has rejected as routine internal disagreement.
