Singapore-based startup Nexstrom has raised $12 million in a seed round to develop equipment for growing ultra-thin transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD) semiconductors directly on commercial 300mm wafers. The company aims to supply chipmakers with tools and processes to integrate 2D-like materials into production, addressing scaling challenges that have so far limited lab results to small samples.
