At least 17 people died after a Congolese army plane developed a technical fault and crashed into a residential area near Kenge in Kwango province while attempting to land. Among the dead were two senior military officials: Lieutenant General Joseph Mutombo and Lieutenant General Lucien-Rene Likulia.
