Solana lifted its maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes in a mainnet upgrade activated at the start of epoch 1,035, around 1:00 a.m. UTC. The release also adds a v1 transaction format that remains backward compatible, though protocols must adopt v1 to use the larger size.
