The U.S. Department of Justice filed suit against the state of Maryland on Thursday challenging a newly enacted state law that forbids federal law-enforcement officers from wearing masks and requires them to identify themselves while operating in Maryland. The complaint was filed the same day the measure took effect and names Maryland and two of its largest counties as defendants.
