Israeli President Isaac Herzog has cleared the criminal record of Elor Azaria, a former soldier convicted of manslaughter for shooting a wounded Palestinian in Hebron in 2016. Herzog shortened the remaining erasure period after a request from Defence Minister Israel Katz, a move the military opposed because Azaria has not expressed remorse.
