The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is holding its first parliamentary election since the region was created in 2018, formally ending the transition led by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA). The vote follows decades of armed conflict and peace negotiations between the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Philippine government and will determine BARMM’s first legislative assembly.
