FBI arrests ‘Chinese foreign agent’ for spying on Taiwan president’s son

The FBI arrested Wanying “Heather” Zhang, a 34-year-old California resident, at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday on a charge of acting as an unregistered foreign agent for China. Authorities allege Zhang surveilled Taiwanese president William Lai Ching-te’s son, sending photos, video and vehicle license-plate information to Chinese officials after traveling to Seattle in 2025 at their request.
