Zcash developers are aiming to activate the NU7 network upgrade on mainnet on Nov. 5 after teams reached unanimous agreement on its contents and timeline. The upgrade would shorten block spacing to 25 seconds, add a Network Sustainability Mechanism configured to preserve the halving schedule, and begin testnet activation on Oct. 6 ahead of a final mainnet decision on Oct. 20.
