U.S. Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper said U.S. forces have supported the movement of more than 1 billion barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz in the last couple of months, even as tensions with Iran have produced an exchange of strikes. He added that U.S. units have aided in more than 2,000 commercial ship transits through the waterway during that period.
