The U.S. State Department publicly designated Zhao Fugang, director of the Overseas Chinese Service Center and based in Fiji, for involvement in corruption tied to Chinese actors. The department said Zhao paid bribes to Fijian citizens to further China-based government, business and criminal interests, and that his conduct harmed U.S. interests in Fiji.
