S&P Global has agreed to buy OpenZeppelin, a smart-contract security firm whose open-source library has facilitated more than $37 trillion in cumulative transfers, though financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition will let S&P extend its digital-asset risk assessments from issuer and reserve analysis to the underlying smart-contract code used by stablecoins, tokenized funds and DeFi products.
