Sony is sticking to its plan to stop producing brand-new PlayStation discs in January 2028, but the company has corrected an earlier report about how quickly its last discmaking plant will scale back. An unnamed Sony DADC spokesperson told Game journalist Brian Crecente that the Thalgau facility is expected to see a 10 percent overall product-volume decline in 2028, not a drop to 10 percent of its prior output as previously reported.
