Ron DeSantis on Thursday rejected President Donald Trump’s proposal to send $5,000 checks to every U.S. adult if Republicans win the midterm elections, arguing the plan would increase federal debt and stoke inflation. At a press conference, DeSantis suggested that surplus revenue should instead be returned to taxpayers through tax cuts.
