A Turkish court has placed Ferhat Gundogdu, head of the Central Referees Committee, and four other refereeing officials into pretrial detention as part of a corruption probe into alleged manipulation of the referee administration process. Seven individuals appeared before a judge on charges including forgery of official documents, breach of trust and illegal acquisition of personal data; five were remanded and two released conditionally.
