U.S. commercial crude inventories fell by 600,000 barrels in the week ending Sept. 11, the Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday, leaving stocks at 423.4 million barrels, about 1% above the five-year average. The EIA release followed American Petroleum Institute figures a day earlier that showed a 7.14 million-barrel build, and crude futures traded lower in New York as gasoline and distillate supplies rose.
