Competitive Pokémon is on phones now, but you still need a Switch to become a champion

Pokémon Champions, a competitive battle simulator, launched on Switch in April and arrived on mobile phones in June with nearly identical gameplay across platforms. However, aspiring competitors face a barrier at the highest levels: the Pokémon World Championships and regional tournaments currently require Switch hardware, despite the mobile version offering comparable functionality.
