A large wildfire has broken out on the San Marcos hillside above the colonial tourist town of Villa de Leyva in central Colombia, authorities said, consuming about 40 hectares of native forest and sending thick smoke visible from the town square. Officials have mobilised aircraft, a military helicopter and firefighting teams from Bogota, Tunja and Boyaca to contain the blaze.
