Bitmine Adds $68 Million in Ethereum as Holdings Near 6 Million ETH

Why It Matters

The acquisition moves Bitmine closer to its stated target of holding 5% of Ethereum’s supply, and because about 85% of its ETH is already staked, the company is producing meaningful annualized revenue from those holdings. Continued weekly purchases illustrate an ongoing institutional accumulation strategy.

Key Facts

  • Last weekly purchase: 27,180 ETH
  • Total ETH holdings: 5,956,378 ETH
  • Share of Ethereum supply: Approximately 4.9%
  • Value of ETH holdings: About $14.89 billion (as of Sunday evening)
  • Total company holdings valuation: $15.8 billion (crypto, cash, securities, strategic investments)

Bitmine Immersion Technologies added 27,180 Ethereum tokens during the most recent week, raising its total to 5,956,378 ETH. That position represents roughly 4.9% of Ethereum’s circulating supply and brings the company close to its publicly stated goal of owning 5% of the network.

The firm places the value of its broader portfolio at $15.8 billion. That figure includes the Ethereum stake (about $14.89 billion), 212 Bitcoin, $549 million in cash and securities, and strategic equity positions in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings valued at $180 million and $98 million, respectively.

About 85% of Bitmine’s Ethereum—roughly 5.07 million ETH—is currently staked, producing projected annualized revenue of $334 million based on a 2.62% yield. Bitmine said revenue could rise to $392 million if the entire ETH balance were staked through MAVAN and its partners; both projections depend on future token prices and staking yields.

Bitmine’s chairman, Tom Lee, noted the company has been adding to its Ethereum treasury weekly since launching the strategy on June 30, 2025. Last week’s purchase was slightly smaller than the prior week’s 28,086 ETH, which had increased holdings to about 5.93 million. The update also comes amid other institutional moves in staking: rival SharpLink plans to stake $200 million through Lido, while the Bitcoin-focused treasury firm Strategy purchased no BTC in the week through Sept. 13 and instead repurchased $139 million of preferred shares.
