Former Hack VC partner Hsin-Ju Chuang found dead at 37

Hsin-Ju Chuang, a crypto-industry executive who had served as head of growth at Stellar and Solana and founded Dystopia Labs, was found dead on Aug. 24, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner said. California Highway Patrol officers discovered her on southbound Interstate 15 south of Field Road and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not publicly disclosed a cause of death.

Chuang joined venture firm Hack VC as a venture partner in 2021 and later became partner and head of platform in 2025, according to her LinkedIn profile. Hack VC co-founder and managing partner Alexander Pack said the firm was "shocked and saddened" by her death and extended condolences to her family, friends and others close to her. Pack added that the firm had not been in direct contact with Chuang for more than 10 months and said it did not have information about the circumstances leading to her death.

In the months before her death, Chuang had publicly accused Hack VC of mistreating her and said she planned to release evidence supporting those allegations. The firm and Pack have not provided details about those claims, and no public confirmation of supporting evidence has been released.

Cointelegraph reported the incident and noted that inquiries to the California Highway Patrol seeking additional information had not been answered by the time of publication.
