U.S. on-highway diesel prices rose to $5.967 per gallon on September 7, topping the previous weekly nominal record of $5.810 set in June 2022, putting a 2026 annual-average record within reach. Regular gasoline rose to $4.157 but remains well below its June 2022 weekly high of $5.006, making a new annual record for gasoline unlikely at this stage.
