The U.S. Energy Information Administration has nudged up its 2027 crude oil production forecast to 14.3 million barrels per day, from 14.2 million bpd in August and 14.0 million bpd in July. The agency still projects 2026 output at 13.8 million bpd, which would surpass the 13.7 million bpd record set in 2025; first-half 2026 production averaged 13.7 million bpd, led by gains in the Permian and the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
